Atkinson Move Completed

Rob Atkinson has now completed his move to Grimsby from Barnsley on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Speaking to the official site, Rob said: ‘Obviously it has taken a couple of weeks to come to an agreement and make the final decision, but it is something that I am happy with.

‘It’s a two-and-a-half year contract which gives me that little bit of security and plenty of time to improve under the guidance of Mike Newell.

‘I’m looking forward to working under him and I am very happy with my decision.”

Rob also spoke about playing alongside Ryan Bennett: ‘We are two young lads but we have a good understanding. We are beginning to read each other’s games and I am looking forward to forming a solid partnership.’
