Russell Slade gets the Mariners back to business as they travel to Northampton in a league two match. Following a great effort v Newcastle in the Carling Cup, Slade now has to get the team re-focused on the all important league campaign.

He says the trip to The Cobblers is tough: ‘They are going to be one of the challengers again this year. It was a shock defeat for them at Stockport last week that raised a few eyebrows. But such is the strength of Colin’s squad that he could make changes if he wants to and still put out a very strong side.’

Grimsby seem to have the hoodoo over Northampton with recent results going our way and much like us, their home form this season hasn’t been great.

Slade says the league is taking shape now and: ‘The teams likely to be challenging are in the mix and we know that getting three points against Northampton would be a massive boost.’

Defender Gary Croft will miss the trip with a knee injury. Andy Parkinson is pushing for a starting place after recovering from troublesome shin splints.

Tickets are available on the day from the Sixfields Stadium. Adult prices £14.50 Senior Citizens £10.00
