Midfielder Drew Rhoades, just 19, a Grimsby lad born and bred has parted with the club after being associated with us since he was 8 years old. Woods must have found letting the lad go particularly painful as he was his mentor for most of that time.
Drew was part of Woods’ Youth Alliance League Cup-winning squad in 2009 but suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in the latter part of the campaign and missed the final at QPR.
Drew was given a month to month contract as he tried to come back from the injury and take the step up from junior and reserve football but alas it was not to be.
