Grimsby Town have made it into the draw for round 2 today after drawing 1-1 with League One leaders Carlisle United.

Alan Buckley started with 4-4-2 with Gary Joes partnering Martin Butler upfront.

Town had the first shot after a cross from Nick Hegarty was met by Paul Bolland, who`s shot was tipped over.

Carlisle started to put the Mariners under pressure in the 15th minute, a cross by Kevin Gall was cleared by Tom Newey then a shot by Gall was brilliantly parried by Town`s Keeper, Phillip Barnes. But Zigor Aranalde sent in a cross and Newey was there again to clear the danger.

A cross by Aranalde was met by an header from Joe Garner but the ball went over the bar.

The first booking came on 25 minutes to Carlisle`s Joe Garner for a foul on Jamie Clarke.

Kevin Gall got another shot in has Carlisle looked for an opener but his shot went wide.

Then on 29 minutes Town got the first goal, a volley by Paul Bolland went in of the bar and gave Town a 1-0 lead.

Carlisle pushed up and a cross by Aranalde was met by Danny Graham who shot wide from inside the area. Before Aranalde was there crossing the ball back into the box and this time an header by Graham went wide.

On 33 minutes, a shot by Simon Hackney was saved by Barnes to deny Carlisle an equaliser.

A shot by Graham on 36 minutes was sent wide of the goal has Carlisle looked to put pressure on the Mariners.

Carlisle had a corner on 39 minutes, taken by Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and was met by Joe Garner but his header was cleared by Boshell.

With less than 5 minutes to go till half time a shot by Chris Lumsdon was blocked by Newey to go out for a corner. The resulting corner was taken by Bridge-Wilkinson but Barnes got there to catch the ball.

The half ended with the score Carlisle United 0 Grimsby Town 1.

Carlisle got the first corner of the second half, an in swinging corner by Bridge-Wilkinson was comfortably gathered by Barnes.

United were pushing to try and get an equaliser when Simon Hackney sent a cross in but was cleared by Bolland.

Carlisle continued putting pressure on the Mariners won a corner on 54 minutes, but Bridge-Wilkinson`s corner was cleared Bolland.

Newey was shown the yellow card on 56 minutes for a foul on Garner, but Aranalde free kick was saved by Barnes.

Hackney sent a cross in on 61 minutes and was cleared by Hegarty before Gall sent the ball back into the area has Carlisle continued to attack but Barnes was there to save.

Hegarty was then sending a cross in at the other end for the Mariners but Carlisle`s keeper, Kieren Westwood got to the ball first.

Town then made a change on 63 minutes, Danny Boshell being replaced by Ciaran Toner.

Carlisle made a double substitution on 65 minutes, Simon Hackney replaced by Jeff Smith and Danny Graham being replaced by Danny Carlton.

Carlisle won a free kick on the edge of the area when Bolland was judged to have handled the ball but Bridge-Wilkinson`s free kick was parried away by Barnes, has Carlisle pushed for an equaliser and Grimsby tried to hang onto their lead.

Barnes was in action again, saving from another free kick by Bridge-Wilkinson, before an in swinging corner was punched away by Barnes only for Carlton to head over the bar.

Town won a free kick on 76 minutes but Jamie Clarke sent a powerful shot in that went over the bar.

Jamie Clarke was shown the yellow card on 82 minutes for a foul on Jeff Smith, the resulting free kick by Bridge-Wilkinson was met by an header from Danny Livesey but he sent it over the bar.

The Carlisle got the equaliser after Newey handled the ball in the area and the referee gave a penalty and showed Newey his second yellow card and sent him off. Aranalde stepped up to take the kick and made no mistake has it went into the net to make it Carlisle 1 Grimsby 1.

Town then made their second change, Martin Butler was replaced by Justin Whittle on 85 minutes

Carlisle looked to try and get a winner, a shot by Bridge-Wilkinson was cleared by Bennett. Then a shot by Jeff Smith went wide.

The referee added 4 minutes onto normal time and a minute into stoppage time Town made their final substitution with Bolland being replaced by Till.

A cross by Gall was met by Garner but he headed wide then deep into stoppage a late push by Carlisle saw a cross come in before going out for a goal kick and the last bit of action to see the Mariners get a 1-1 draw at League One leaders, Carlisle United.
