Neil Woods has refused to close the door on the four transfer listed mariners who reported back to Weelsby Woods for pre season training. Keeper Colgan, forward Forbes, plus Hegarty and Chris Jones have not found new clubs and will therefore fight the summer flab in exchange for continuing to pick up a wage.
Though none of the four are guaranteed a start, with the Brigg Town friendly just 10 games away, at least a couple might find an opportunity. Woods was as fair, frank and up front as ever today, at the first day of preseason training.
‘No-one is unhappy here as far as I’m aware. It was certain circumstances, be it wages, contracts or where they live, that meant people were put on the transfer list. If some come back, it’s not a problem for us. But ultimately we went down because we weren’t good enough and that’s why we are trying to bring in new faces.’
