Grimsby Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Siriki Dembele in the one nil victory over Crewe Alexandra at the weekend at Blundell Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Dembele was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Grimsby`s last fixture with Crewe Alexandra saw them fall to an emphatic 5-0 defeat, but that would not be the case this time around, and Dembele was a key player as the Mariners exacted some revenge. The winger was a constant threat to the opposition, and it was his delightful cross which was nodded home by Mitch Rose to settle things at Blundell Park.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Dembele for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Brendan Moore (Rochdale), Joe Martin (Stevenage), Troy Brown (Exeter City), Anthony Stewart (Wycombe Wanderers), Levi Sutton (Scunthorpe United), Alex Rodman (Shrewsbury Town), Tarique Fosu (Charlton Athletic), Siriki Dembele (Grimsby Town), Jordan Roberts (Crawley Town), Charlie Wyke (Bradford City), Shaq Coulthirst (Barnet).

Manager – Kevin Nolan (Notts County).
