Grimsby Town have today confirmed the signing of Robert Duffy from Mansfield Town, for who he scored 23 goals in 57 appearances.

Duffy, 28, has signed a two year deal with the Mariners having failed to agree personal terms with the club earlier in the week, although an undisclosed fee had been agreed between the two clubs.

Having passed his medical, the six foot striker will travel to the south coast today with the Town squad and will make his Grimsby debut in tomorrow`s Blue Square Premier match.

The Mariners may well add the signature of midfielder Bryan Hughes later today. The free agent has been training with the Mariners all of this week and manager Neil Woods has told BBC Radio Humberside, “Conversations have gone as far as they will do. He’s now thinking about it”.
