The FA tribunal has thankfully ruled that the Mariners must pay Steve Evans` Crawley Town £10,000 compensation for striker Charles Ademeno. Although that stands us in at £2,500 an appearance so far in all honesty common sense has prevailed.

Given Steve Evans seems prepared to lash out six figures for Uncle Tom Cobbly and all the Blue Square transfer market has suffered some unrealistic inflation and expectation of late.

Grimsby chairman John Fenty told the club’s official website: ‘We’ve got to be pleased with the outcome. We now just want to see Charles back in action. Hopefully he’ll be back soon, showing us his magic.’
