Grimsby Town have this afternoon confirmed that Bryan Hughes has agreed a contract with the club until the end of the current season.

Hughes, a free agent, has now been training with the Mariners for two weeks. He will bring experience and guile to the centre of midfield, and also provide a calming influence in that area.
The front pairing of top scorer Alan Connell and new signing Rob Duffy will hope to benefit from his distribution.

Apart from the club’s announcement on saturday that young striker Nathan Dixon’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent, there has been no further news on transfers in or out of Grimsby Town.

However, manager Neil Woods told BBC Radio Humberside after the end of the game at Eastbourne that neither he, or the club, would ‘go public’ until any deals have been concluded.

Elsewhere, Alex Rodman, who switched from Tamworth to Aldershot a few days ago, has confirmed that Grimsby had been one of the clubs to have expressed an interest in signing him.
