Grimsby Town’s official website confirms that saturday’s home game against Mansfield will definately be on.

The head groundsman, Mike Phillips, reports that the pitch is no longer frozen and that the surface water has cleared. Conditions for the game are described as being perfect.

The weather forecasts for the next 48 hours are very favourable, and so the Mariners will start their first league match seven weeks to the day after the 1-1 draw at BP against Barrow on 20th November.

Town’s only game in that 42 day period was the FA Trophy win over Redditch United on 11th December.
