Grimsby Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jamey Osbourne in the two nil victory over Notts County at the weekend at Blundell Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Osbourne was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘After joining Grimsby from Solihull Moors earlier in the week, Osborne was thrust into the starting line-up immediately by manager Marcus Bignot. And the midfielder suitably impressed, setting up a goal and earning the Man of the Match award as the Mariners overcame Notts County.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Osbourne for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joe Day (Newport County), Eoghan O’Connell (Walsall), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Josh Wright (Gillingham), Jamey Osbourne (Grimsby Town), Conor Grant (Doncaster Rovers), Rob Hall (Oxford United), Chuks Aneke (MK Dons), Ollie Watkins (Exeter City).

Manager – Steve Evans (Mansfield Town).
