Formidable Former Southend United and Cambridge front man Charles Ademeno looks set to pen a two year deal with the Mariners tomorrow. Twenty-one year old Charlie boy is a powerful, quick box of tricks who likes to play off the shoulder of his man as you would expect from a converted winger. At 5` 10″ he is not the tallest but at a shade under 12 stone of pure muscle this boy will hold his own in the air or on the ground.

Steve Evans appears resigned to losing last years top scorer (11 Conference strikes) despite offering Double O ( his real name is Charles Adesola O. O. Ademeno) a big pay rise (over a third by all accounts). Allegedly the Mariners have beaten off a host of League Two clubs for his signature.

Although Charlie is out of contract a fee will be payable as the lad is under 24. As to whether that has been agreed or the tribunal will need to intervene is another matter. The word is he will be unveiled tomorrow.
