Grimsby Town`s youth team made it through to the second round of the Puma Youth Alliance Cup after winning against holders Hull City.

The game had finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and then went to penalties where the Mariners came through 8-7.

Speaking to the official site, youth coach Neil Woods, said: ‘They we lucky to beat us a couple of weeks ago and it was a great performance by our lads on Saturday. We created quite a few decent chances during the game and could have won it during the ninety minutes.”

The Mariners youth team will now play rivals Scunthorpe in the next round which is expected to be played on Saturday 22nd November.
