Glen Downey saw red as Grimsby Town’s second string were hammered 4-0 at home by Doncaster Rovers, with Jonathan Forte grabbing a hat-trick.

The former Scarborough defender was dismissed for a professional foul after just 36 minutes of the Pontins League Division One East clash at Blundell Park.

There was better news for Mariners boss Russell Slade, though, as giant centre-back Rob Jones successfully came through 75 minutes of his comeback match.

Slade also gave a run out to Dereham Town striker Danny Wright, who has scored 15 goals this season for the Ridgeons Premier Division side.
