Despite his poor record in front of goal, Lester has still found himself in demand with his hardwork and his large number of assist’s countering his goal return.

Lester was weakly linked with Town as Alan Buckley looks to add a frontman to his ranks but the wages of Lester would rule him out of any return to his first club.

The 31-year-old looks set to stay in League One as Richard Money looks to consolidate his sides promotion, with Lester at the heart of that planning.
