Alan Buckley has wasted no time in bringing in a second senior goalkeeper to the club having already stated his dislike of only working with one senior stopper.
With rookie Rob Murray released last month, Buckley began his search to provide Phil Barnes some competition for his No 1 jersey.
25-year-old Montgomery wasn’t handed a new contract at League Two new boys Rotherham after their relegation from League One, ending his four-year stay in South Yorkshire.
Prior to signing for the Millers, Montgomery emerged through the youth ranks at Coventry City where he was highly rated but only managed to make a limited impact on the first team, eight league starts to be exact.
After loan spells at Crewe and Kidderminster, he made the journey north to Rotherham where he made 33 league starts in four seasons.

Barnes wont like it much but you have to keep him on his toes, and its always wise to have a number 2, montgomery is a good choice
Always rated Barnes when he was with us!
But the competition should do him good!
The competiton should provide a healthier goalkeeper situation at the club
